Dosso Kassimou was born and raised in Cote-d’Ivoire (West Africa). His experience with
corruption, poverty, poor governance and violent political unrests nurtured his desire to educate
himself about human rights issues and to become an advocate for change.  To that end, Dosso
obtained a BA in Linguistics and Secondary Education and certificate in African Studies from the
University of Cocody. After leaving Africa, Dosso obtained two Master’s degrees in Diplomacy and
International Relations and in Public Administration, with a specialization in public service:
leadership, governance and policy. He was the president of the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society, and
was recently honored as the “Many Are One” Award recipient from the Whitehead School of
Diplomacy and International Relations.

He is the Director of International Trade for Overclas S.L, a concrete company based in
Barcelona, Spain. As a consultant, he is charged with securing cement contracts from several
African countries for Overclas.S.L. Dosso is a Founder and Executive Director of Sandji; a non-
profit organization promoting peace, economic development and social change in Africa. Sandji
has worked diligently in Cote-d’Ivoire for the past two years. The organization hosted a successful
soccer tournament for peace building and reconciliation; and donated first hand basic medication
to prevent and treat malaria and common tropical diseases in the rural areas. This past December
Sandji helped built a modern primary school in a local village in Cote-d’Ivoire. Dosso has worked
diligently to expand his personal and professional knowledge of sustainable economic and human
development by acting as a global educator for Metro International, a non-profit organization
working to educate high school and college students about globalization and international issues.
He has also been a representative to several commissions for sustainable development (CSD-14)
at the United Nations to address the Challenges facing Africa.

Dosso has conducted many speaking engagements during which he acted as a Guest Speaker: In
New Rochelle College (New York) where he discussed the development challenges in Africa and
the impact on the environment; and at the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and
International Relations where he talked about the social integration challenges of African
immigrants in America. Dosso is currently a volunteer speaker for the Darfur Rehabilitation Project
(DRP), a non profit organization advocating for the Rights of the Darfurian people. Dosso also
continues to educate Americans young and adults about Africa and the African history through
lecturing and presentations in local high schools, colleges and universities.

Dosso was very instrumental in the election of President Barack Obama. He acted as an
Organizing Fellow for the Campaign; coordinated canvassing activities, rallies, motorcade, house
meetings, and above all voter registration drives. Dosso views his contribution to any program
related to human development as valuable, because of his educational background compounded
by his personal experiences and first- hand knowledge of contemporary issues.
